Consumer Report from August 2021 did a report on door locks. They found 3 main takeaways:

1. Drills Easily Open Most Locks – They found an ordinary cordless drill can disable the cylinders, with all but the high-security locks, in 2 minutes or less.

2. Parts Are Often Inadequate – Consumer Report states, that some “a lock should be secure without consumers having to buy an aftermarket part.”

3. New Technologies Don’t Solve Old Problems – They found that although keypad- operated door locks were convenient, they were still susceptive to “physical break-in tactics, such as drilling and picking.”
